Educators from around the world pack ISTE Auditorium for chat with Tim Magner

What an event this was … we filled the sim … avatars from around the world joined us … the U.K. (Fleet Goldenberg, shown here) … Asia (ShamblesGuru Voom), Australia (Decka Mah was in the audience), and a collection of others from the USA including Mari Asturias, Tek Zeno, and Maggie Marat all shared their experience with Rupert Urvilan (RL: Tim Magner) and [for a while at least] Meghan McLeod (RL: Leslie Conery). The full (albeit brief) picture set can be found here. Special thanks to RavenPhoenix Zenovka, Louise Borgnine and Corrine Fleury for logistical help before and during the session!

Although several avatars who filled out the pre-event survey could not attend, it allowed us to give Maggie Marat, shown below, some well-deserved airtime:

In my view at least, Maggie’s powerful closing comments were the perfect cap to the evening, and with luck, we’ll hear them again, if Knowclue Kidd’s machinima coverage of the event comes together … Knowclue, how did you make out?

Thanks, everyone, for coming, but thanks mostly to Rupert for making this unique event possible, and to SIGJunkie Bing (RL: Gordon Dahlby) for suggesting the idea in the first place!

Couldn’t agree more about your comment on Maggie giving the closing comments … she was spot on !

Yes, Maggie’s closing was powerful. What is even more powerful is that our voices are being heard by our government policy makers. Thanks so much to Tim for lending us your ear and time!
