Redefining Innovation: Programming Complex, Immersive Simulations in Second Life

Tuesday July 28, 2009 5PM SLT

Since launching in 2003, Second Life has continued to evolve in terms of capability and sophistication, while the foundation design elements have remained largely the same. Sensing these limitations – and opportunities – three educators came together and formed MUVERs LLC, a company that designs and develops sophisticated interactive capabilities previously unheard of in Second Life. Join us for an exciting discussion with Cathy Walker (SL: PadlurownCanoe Dibou), John Miller (SL: JS Vavoom), and Scott Merrick (SL: ScottMerrick Oh) who will share their experiences with the complex, immersive simulations in Second Life, and in particular, their simulation for the medical training industry. This session promises to be one of our most forward-thinking yet, as we explore how their approach to SIM design can potentially change the way Second Life is used as a training environment.
