Esme Qunha (RL: Jane Wilde) is a good friend and fellow ISTE Docent known for, among other things, the amazing tours she leads every other Sunday with SL colleague Janita Collins. She teaches the Masters of Arts in Teaching Program at Marlboro College Graduate Center. The course is called Teaching and Learning in Virtual Worlds and is utilizes synchronous sessions in Second Life and asynchronous discussions in Moodle. Anyway, she emailed me to let me know about her students presenting some final projects and I promised I’d pass it on. Please consider attending if you can – contact her for more information!

Hi fellow ISTE volunteers, friends and colleagues,

I am writing to invite you to serve as a final project reviewer this week in SL.

I teach two groups of students, in a course called Teaching and Learning in Virtual Worlds (University at Albany and Marlboro College Graduate Center).  These students will be presenting final projects this Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon.

If you have an interest in supporting other educators, serving as a public audience for learning, or just seeing what we are up to, please consider being an expert reviewer:

Thursday August 6 from 3-5 pm SLT
or Saturday August 8 from 10 am to Noon SLT

To qualify as an “expert,” you need experience as an educator, a learner or a second life resident – THAT’S YOU.
The job is to be an active audience participant, and make notes on a notecard that I will prepare.  The students projects may vary widely in complexity based on many factors. It will not be necessary to judge the work, just make positive remarks and suggestions for small advances or the next step.  This public presentation is an opportunity to share and celebrate.  We would love to have you participate.

Reply to me by email esmequnhua@gmail.com or IM me Esme Qunhua in world, if you would like to be part of these events. Thanks for your consideration.
